Gospel singer Zanele "Zaza" Mokhethi is in hot water after she failed to pay for her live DVD recording and editing. This week Zimoja reported that another gospel artist, Keke, owed a hefty sum for hiw DVD recording.
WORK, NO PAY
Zaza is accused of owing One Take Media (OTM), the company that produced her DVD recording for her project Blowing The Horn Of Chronicles about R20 000 for the project released under Zahza Holdings. OTM said they have been quiet for too long about artists wanting good quality service but not willing to pay for it. "This is a job for us, it's not a hobby. How do you ask for a service and not pay for it?"
The company said Zaza came to them asking that they shoot and edit her DVD recording. "She paid the deposit but did not pay the balance. The same thing that Keke did. We used our resources, we have staff to pay.It ends up being a loss for us."
BOOKED AND BUSY
Zaza was recently booked to perform next month with Kelly Mashudu Tsedu-Muntswu at a concert. "She's pretty much booked almost every weekend but it's been a year of silence." OTM management added: "It's disheartening because now we have to resort to taking this to the media because legal fees are costly. But we are considering going to the small claims court. Zaza must pay!"
Zaza could not be reached for a comment.
