Her career peaked when she started dancing as a teenager. She had danced for the likes of DJ Tira, Jobe London Tipcee, and TDK Macassette and also ventured into making her own music. But her dreams have been cut short following her death. Choreographer, dancer, and KwaZulu-Natal musician Lungy Gwala has passed on.

The Gwala family confirmed the passing of the Umlazi C Section dancer saying they are devastated by the untimely death. The family said she died on the evening of 25 June 2024. "In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space and the time to congregate as a family to decide on the upcoming days."

GRIEVING

Her family and friends did not wish to disclose what took her life. "We are still dealing with the news, we will share what happened to Lungy, we are just not okay as yet," a friend and musician told ZiMoja. "We will miss her so much for her high energy, kindness, and crazy personality. Lungy was born to be a star."
