What is Bongo Maffin without the only female leading vocalist in the group? This coming September, singer Zonke and Bongo Maffin have been booked to be the opening acts for Dru Hill at the All-White Soul Sessions Concert taking place at SunBet Arena in Tshwane. However, Thandiswa Mazwai has come out to say... count me out!

In a post on social media, Thandiswa sarcastically encouraged ?the boys' to have a good one. Thandiswa is currently in the US where she will be touring around the same time that Bongo Maffin will be performing with the group. An insider in the Bongo Maffin team said, "The guys were not gonna sit around and wait for Thandiswa, if she won't be back the show must go on." he said, "If it was up to me, I would get another female vocalist to replace her, like The Spil has done. It's nothing new." The close friend said Bongo Maffin members have been pursuing their solo careers. "They have been doing well at that."

 Another friend said Bongo Maffin band members have, in the past, taken several bookings without Thandiswa. "They have been performing as Bongo Maffin without her many times- this is nothing new. Her international bookings were secured before the Dru Hill show was announced, it wouldn't be fair to cancel an entire schedule for one show."

Thandiswa's team said, "She won't comment, she wrote what she wrote on social media and that's where it ends." Speedy, and Jah Seed have also chosen silence on the matter. Stoan however said, there is no fight. "Bongo Maffin will work together when the time is right. We will release music when the time permits, and we have not parted ways. Everyone is just busy with their stuff." Stoan added, "It is quite an honour for us to be invited to be part of the All-White Soul Sessions Concert, and to share the stage with the legendary Dru Hill, is a cherry on top. We can't wait to have fun with our fans and take them down memory lane with all their favourite hits."
