A 20-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly murdered his 16-year-old brother. The incident occurred in Limpopo during a heated argument between the two siblings, which tragically escalated into a physical fight.
SAPS spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the police received a complaint of a murder incident in Vianeen village. The police heard from a relative that the suspect had stabbed his brother to death. "After stabbing his brother, the suspect went to a relative to inform them about the incident, and EMS was called to the scene," said Ledwaba. Ledwaba said that upon arrival at the scene, police discovered the body of a teenage boy lying on his bed facing up with stab wounds on his back. "The two brothers allegedly got into a heated argument, which escalated to a physical fight, during which the older brother allegedly stabbed the younger brother in the back with a knife," said Ledwaba. The victim was certified dead at the scene.
Ledwaba said the case was opened at Witpoort police station. The suspect made his first appearance at the Phalala Magistrates Court on Friday on charges of murder. His matter was postponed for legal aid represenative." Police investigations continue.
