Sisisi Tolashe is the new ANC Women's League president after beating former ANCWL President Bathabile Dlamini and Thembeka Mchunu. She received 1729 while Mchunu got 1038 and Dlamini got 170 votes.This comes after ANC Women's League conference held in Nasrec came to an end this evening.
Deputy President position went to Lungi Gcabashe. She was competing with Bernice Swarts and the current Deputy National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Chairperson Sylvia Lucas.
The new Secretary General is Nokuthula Nqaba. She was contesting Lydia Moroane-Zitha, and Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe Dina Pule saw off Makoma Makhurupetje, Winnie Ngwenya and Johanna Aphiri to become Deputy Secretary General
The newly elected Treasurer General is MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae beating Manketsi Tlhape from North West.
The results means ANC women's league finally has leadership after years of none existence. The league will have to finalise additional members who will form part of the ANCWL's member national executive committee. Just above 3000 delegates were part of the conference.
